Renovation and Addition

To renovate a 97,000 sf building, that included dividing open spaces into conventional classrooms, and to design a 1,500 sf multi-use addition. The scope of work included updated mechanical ventilation throughout the building, sprinkler system, upgraded electrical and fire alarm systems, new windows and eterior doors, updated restrooms/locker rooms for handicapped accessibility, and reconfiguration of vehicle traffic flow.

Construction took place throughout the 2001-2002 school year and summer vacation. Portable classrooms were used to allow for phasing renovation in the two classroom wings during the school year. Construction within core areas took place when the school was not occupied.
