Mechanical Engineer

Oak Point Associates is a dynamic, full-service architecture and engineering firm with 70+ employees and two offices (in Portsmouth, NH and Biddeford, ME). We work on projects of all sizes, with our largest market sectors being in educational design (K-12 and University/College) and Federal Government contracts. We are seeking a full-time, detail-oriented and talented engineer to join our mechanical department in our Biddeford office.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Mechanical Engineering Technology (BSMET) degree from an accredited university
  • HVAC and Plumbing Design experience
  • Two plus years’ experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer preferred
  • Strong written and oral communications
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Responsibilities Include:

  • Design of HVAC, plumbing, and sprinkler systems
  • Heating load, cooling load, and energy calculations
  • Collaboration with other engineers, architects, interior designers and landscape architects to develop creative design solutions
  • Evaluation and development of highly efficient HVAC systems including Geothermal, VRF, and energy recovery systems
  • Plumbing calculations and design
  • Sprinkler calculations and design
  • Preparation of specifications and cost estimates
