Overview:

The new, 5,200 square foot Enrollment and Advancement Center (EAC) for the University of Maine at Fort Kent houses the university’s Admissions, Development, and Marketing departments.  The new building establishes a welcoming, modern first impression of UMFK.  The location on an existing greenspace at the main entrance into the campus provides a visible, intuitive site for the EAC.  The single-story, thermally-modified lumber-clad building with a standing-seam metal shed roof is oriented with its tallest elevation facing the public road, conveying a significant visual presence.

The interior of the building consists of a large welcome space, with a reception desk, fireplace, and comfortable seating; large and small conference rooms; several offices, and common areas (break counter, bathrooms, storage, etc.).  The design was completed with a very tight budget and schedule, which meant keeping the building size as small as possible.  Oak Point Associates worked with UMFK and University of Maine System personnel to ensure that the program would meet their needs and budget.
